DR. GREEN RELIEF
Southaven Marijuana Doctors
Your Southaven medical marijuana card is issued by the Mississippi State Department of Health. Our Mississippi medical marijuana card guide covers certification by an MSDH-registered practitioner, and our Mississippi marijuana laws page covers the rules on possession and use. Products are sold only by dispensaries licensed by the Mississippi Department of Revenue, and only to cardholders. The State’s Department of Health lists all 188 licensed dispensaries in Mississippi in its online business search, as of October 8, 2026. The first certifying exam must take place in person in Mississippi, unless you are homebound, so a visit across the Tennessee line does not count. Dr. Green Relief has no office in Southaven or elsewhere in Mississippi. Call 800-420-8423 with questions about this page.
You apply for a Southaven Medical Marijuana Card online. After your certification, register in the MSDH portal, upload a photo and your Mississippi driver’s license or ID, and pay the $25 fee; Medicaid participants pay $15. MSDH reviews a complete application within 10 days, and the electronic card then works at any licensed Mississippi dispensary.

HOW CANNABIS DOCTORS IN SOUTHAVEN
CERTIFY PATIENTS
Southaven Marijuana Doctors must follow Mississippi’s age rules. A patient under 18 can be certified only by an MD or DO, with a parent or legal guardian who consents and serves as caregiver. Patients aged 18 to 25 need two practitioners, one an MD or DO, from separate practices unless they are homebound or had a card before 18. Adults over 25 need one registered practitioner, and every patient needs a qualifying condition such as cancer, Crohn’s, PTSD or diabetic neuropathy. A caregiver must be 21 or older unless they are the parent or legal guardian of a minor patient, must have no disqualifying felony and must pass a fingerprint background check. One caregiver can assist up to 5 patients, and the caregiver card costs $25 plus a $37 background check.
Visitors from other states can buy in Mississippi only with a temporary card. They need an active medical cannabis card from their home state, may apply up to 30 days before arriving, pay $75, and may hold the card for at most two 15 day periods a year. Tennessee issues no medical cannabis card, so Tennessee residents cannot qualify for a Mississippi visitor card. Visitors can buy up to 6 MMCEUs a week and 12 in 15 days, and may hold 14 at a time. Flower is capped at 30% total THC and tinctures, oils and concentrates at 60%. A Mississippi card is valid only in Mississippi.

Mississippi Medical Cannabis Program
DeSoto County residents apply through the same statewide program, which MSDH runs online. Mississippi’s program dates from February 2, 2022, when the Governor signed Senate Bill 2095, the Mississippi Medical Cannabis Act. For a Southaven patient it works in two stages: a written certification from a practitioner registered with MSDH, then an MSDH card. With that MSDH card in hand and no more than the allowable amount, a Southaven patient is presumed under state law to be making medical use of cannabis.
