Dr. Green Relief has not authorized him to use our name. DR. GREEN RELIEF is a federally registered trademark (U.S. Reg. Nos. 6,399,203 and 6,557,672). He is in violation of our registered trademark. He stole our name. In January 2022 we sued him for trademark infringement in federal court (M.D. Fla. No. 3:22-cv-00007); the court dismissed that case without prejudice in June 2023 without deciding it. In our opinion, his use of the name Dr. Green Relief Rx for a medical marijuana practice is likely to confuse patients and infringes our registered trademark. Beware. Dr. Green Relief has no Jacksonville office and no affiliation with him, his practice or his website.

If you are certified, your physician enters your certification in the Medical Marijuana Use Registry, and you then apply for your state ID card. Once the OMMU approves your ID card, its approval email lets you fill an order while the card is printed and mailed. As a qualified patient with an ID card, you may buy, possess and use medical marijuana notwithstanding the state drug laws, within the supply limits and other requirements of section 381.986.

Why do you need certification? Florida’s medical marijuana law allows qualified patients with a state ID card to purchase, possess and use medical marijuana under Florida law. For Jacksonville patients, the Florida card process starts once a qualified physician certifies you. What do you need to get a medical marijuana card?

An adult permanent resident submits a copy of a valid Florida driver license or Florida ID card; an adult seasonal resident without one submits two proofs of a Florida address from the OMMU’s list, such as a rental or lease agreement or a utility bill not more than 2 months old. Once approved, you can apply through the state system and receive your card after processing.
WHO MAY CERTIFY IN FLORIDA
Florida Qualified Physicians
Only a Florida qualified physician may certify a Jacksonville patient. Section 381.986(1)(n) defines that term as “a person who holds an active, unrestricted license as an allopathic physician under chapter 458 or as an osteopathic physician under chapter 459 and is in compliance with the physician education requirements of subsection (3)”: an MD or DO who has successfully completed the 2-hour course and subsequent examination that subsection requires before approval and before each license renewal. The OMMU publishes the list of those physicians.
