Oklahoma requires a recommendation from a physician licensed in Oklahoma and registered with OMMA. Getting a Norman Marijuana Card takes a recommendation from an OMMA-registered Oklahoma physician, an OMMA application and the $104.30 state fee. In Oklahoma, a marijuana card is called a marijuana patient license. Our Oklahoma medical marijuana card page walks through the OMMA application for that license. Oklahoma’s Medical Cannabis Program lets such a physician recommend medical marijuana to any adult resident, with no list of qualifying conditions, using the standards a prudent physician applies to any medication.
OMMA must decide a complete application within 14 business days and then mails the card to your Norman address by first-class mail. Minor patients need two physician signatures, and a parent or guardian is named on the license. OMMA’s application fee is nonrefundable, so apply only after your recommendation is signed, and within 30 days of its date. Dr. Green Relief has no office in Norman or elsewhere in Oklahoma.

CANNABIS DOCTORS IN NORMAN
Since January 1, 2026, a Norman patient’s recommendation must come from a physician registered with OMMA after OMMA-approved medical marijuana education, renewed every year. The physician must hold an Oklahoma license in good standing and may not practice at a dispensary address, including video visits taken at a dispensary. OMMA keeps a voluntary Registered Physicians List, so ask any physician who is not on it to confirm registration before your visit. Out-of-state residents cannot get an Oklahoma license on an Oklahoma physician’s recommendation.
Norman families can register a caregiver: the license is free, the caregiver must be an Oklahoma resident aged 18 or older, and one caregiver may serve up to five patients. An adult patient may have one caregiver and a minor patient up to two, and the physician must state on the recommendation form that a caregiver is needed. The caregiver and the patient both sign the Caregiver Designation Form, and minor patients may not smoke or vape unless both recommending physicians agree. Caregivers need proof of identity, proof of residency and a photo when they apply.

The regulatory agency for Oklahoma’s medical marijuana program is the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA). To get your Oklahoma Cannabis Card, you first need a recommendation from an OMMA-registered Oklahoma physician. Once OMMA issues your patient license, you are protected from state arrest and prosecution for medical use, possession and purchase within the legal limits.

There are two costs for your Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Card: the $129 Dr. Green Relief telehealth evaluation by video, and OMMA’s $100 application fee plus $4.30 processing ($20 plus $2.50 with Medicaid, Medicare or 100% disabled veteran status).
