What Should You Know Before Seeing a Medical Marijuana Doctor in Louisville?

Kentucky’s medical cannabis program began in January 2025; beyond Jefferson County, dispensaries operate in Elizabethtown and Frankfort. Patients with a qualifying condition can receive a written certification, register with the state, buy medical cannabis, and renew the card yearly, filing at least 30 days before it expires with a certification from the prior 60 days and the $25 fee.
